Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas!

Well, I am starting to settle in, find my way around town, get used to my new apartment, and adapt to being away from friends and family.  I do love it here, it is beautiful. There is so much to do, there are lights everywhere, and music is always playing in the streets. People are happy, dressed to impress, and spending money like it is nothing. There is a never ending list of things to do, a lot of which is free or at least really cheap. There is a starbucks on every corner and a free glass of wine every time I choose to put a dollar in the penny slots!

I am currently in the Luxor Hotel & Casino sitting at a table just outside of the Starbucks. I am listening to Kesha and watching two ladies who seem to be having a blast together playing the nickel slots.

The plan for the day is sit here, drink my coffee, skype with mom and dad, write in my blog, explore the luxor a little bit, pick up Stephen from work, have lunch with Hunter, and then we are going to the theme park in MGM Grand and to explore a little bit and see the lions. :)

We did discover a local strip area called "The Fremont Street Experience".

It is an area of Fremont St. that they have blocked off with an overhead lightshow. They have zip-lining from one end of the street to the other, they have several casinos and dance clubs, there are bands playing in the streets and people dancing and having a good time.

So far it has been a blast, but in addition to having a wonderful time, Hunter and I both have amazing job opportunities.  He has a customer service opportunity at a landline corporation out of Canada.  It pays well, has a great schedule, is full time, and is something he will be great at.  I have an opportunity with Verizon Wireless to work as a Customer Support Representative in the store. It is salaried and my training will be in Phoenix for 5 weeks.  We should know for sure if we snagged the positions within the next week.

I will keep you all posted!
Can't wait to see what else God has in store and what new experiences are out there for us to live through.

Hi Brittany,
Thank you sooooo much for writing an update. So good to hear from you. So glad it is going well. We will be praying about your job and Hunter's too. We missed you for Easter dinner today. We did not hunt for Easter baskets or hide eggs or put a puzzle together from the pieces in the eggs of which we could not find all of but we do have these memories.:)
And .....we have made reservations at the Bluegreen Club 36 for the week before Christmas. So we will be coming to visit YOU!!!!!!
We love you sweetie.

I'm so proud of the strong, independent young woman you've become. I'm so thankful you had the confidence to venture out on your own to explore a whole new world. You will be much more joyful in the long run as you step out on faith, take risks, and heed to the call of the Lord in your life.

I LOVE skyping with you and hearing from day to day all about the new things you've learned... the positives, as well as the challenges you are facing along the way. Always be encouraged that you have many people in your life who love you and are rooting for you. God is your biggest cheerleader... Dad, Josh, and I are close seconds ;o)

Love you and I'm so blessed that you're a part of my life... my daughter and best friend!
